Richard Widmann
Head of Crypto Strategy, Google Cloud
Rich Widmann serves as the Global Head of Strategy for Web3 at Google Cloud, where he co-founded Google’s first Web3 efforts and oversees the ongoing execution of Google Cloud’s Web3 product roadmap which includes products at the intersection of Web3 and AI. In addition, Rich has led several Alphabet-wide initiatives aimed at broadening Google’s exposure to Web3, including efforts enabling AI agent-to-agent commerce leveraging stablecoins and Google Cloud’s Universal Ledger - a proprietary layer 1 designed for institutional payments and commerce.

Rich often leverages his previous experience as a litigator at Sidley Austin where his work focused on regulatory and white collar criminal corruption matters, namely the FIFA World Cup bribery schemes. He is also an adjunct professor at the Northwestern Pritzker University School of Law where he teaches a course on cryptocurrency technology and regulations. He has previously served on the board of two regulated depository institutions in the US.
